After graduating from college and doing the obligatory stints in bars and restaurants (where I met some of my best friends) I spent two glorious years living in Madrid, Spain. Then something (convention) told me I needed to come back and get going. Initially I was still on my less conventional path, but as convention does it sucked me in for any number of reasons.

Convention led me to providing financial accounting services to mostly nonprofit clients for the last 30 years, but to be honest it only rang partially true. While it’s been great and I still do that work and am happily self-employed, I also stumbled upon a number of things that have changed my life. Don’t get me wrong, I love my clients and their missions but that skillset is only part of my story.

Another part of my story is that I am quite intuitive and get a pretty good read on people. And their micro expressions. That one is a blessing and a curse to be honest. I’ve learned to listen to it and not second guess it because truth be told It’s not been wrong. And it keeps at it until you acknowledge it in all of its correctness.

As fate would have it, I had an astrology reading by a well-known astrologer named Debra Silverman. I’d been playing around in the months leading up to the reading having studied Numerology, Tarot and Lenormand with some really great teachers. I started reading cards and found out I am good at it. I also took a self-study astrology class called Inner View through Deb’s astrology school but it was really an excuse to get together with one of my besties. 

Fast forward to the end of that course and I was personally due for a reading. I used to have a great local astrologer who up and disappeared one day…and I’ve had readings since but none of them really resonated with me like they used to. Although she wouldn’t have admitted it my old astrologer was also psychic. 

Fate possessed me and I scheduled my reading which happened to be two days after a plant medicine journey I had (Bufo). At first I was just another reading which is fair but we did get to chatting and in addition to being a great astrologer, Deb is also an excellent sales person. I travelled to Denver to participate in healing course called 4E which was one of the most profound experiences of my life.

The reading also changed everything and I ultimately enrolled in her Applied Astrology School because that’s the focus. Application. The understanding and application of what your itinerary is for this life. During my reading it confirmed many things I already knew to be true – like I bop around and study a lot of things until I decide to focus. It also named my repetitive patterns and what the lesson in them is, it explained the internal struggles I’ve had about certain facets of my personality and behavior, and for me that confirmation gave me the opportunity to exhale. I didn’t even know I’d been holding my breath.
